MOD Enhanced Learning Credits. What actually are they and what can you use them for?
The MOD 's Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) Scheme endorses lifelong learning among members of the Armed Forces. Providing financial support in each of a maximum of 3 distinct financial years, the scheme enables higher level learning of a nationally recognised qualification at Level 3 or above with an approved Training Provider. MOD Enhanced Learning Credits Eligibility First, you need to already be registered to become a Scheme Member and have accrued a sufficient amount of service before you can submit a claim. If you are still serving, speak to your local Education Staff as they will be able to check your entitlement for you. However, if you have left the forces, please contact ELCAS as they can make the appropriate checks. Please remember, you must be able to provide a completed Course Evaluation document to enable your claim to be processed. Without this, your claim will not be processed, and funding will be unavailable as a result. ELCAS Approved Diplomas How to Apply for MOD ELCAS funding Service Personnel: For service personnel wishing to claim funding, please note the following requirements: Full information regarding the course you wish to undertake, including details of your registration date where applicable. On receipt of your Claim Authorisation Note (CAN), you must present it to your chosen Learning Provider before the course is due to start. Submit your claim to your Education Staff (in paper or electronic format) a minimum of 25 working days prior to your course start date/registration date. Service Leaver: To claim funding when you are no longer in service, your application must include the following: Evidence of your last day of Service e.g. copy of your discharge document, copy of P45 terminating employment, document stamped by regiment confirming leaving date. RAF Personnel can request proof of service from the RAF Disclosures team by completing the DPA SAR form here. ID documents must accompany the completed form.
